Digital Process Innovation via Data-Based Services

Digitization is today’s major driver for growth and innovation. It changes value chains and relations permanently and fast. With regard to this setting, it is a major challenge to design innovative and smart services for economy and society. The chair of Business Information Systems at Paderborn University examines in the project “Digivation” how process innovation through databased services succeed. “Digivation” is granted by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (ID: O2K14A22O). The joint research project is an accompanying project of the funding initiative “Service Innovation Through Digitization”, which is supported by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA). Based on the individual projects that are connected within this research focus, we examine digital transformation of business processes within service systems. Furthermore, we develop sustainable concepts for organizational transformation of service systems, especially actions of human resource policies. Project partners are the Chair of Business Information Systems of Prof. Dr. Beverungen, Chair of Marketing and Innovation of Prof. Dr. Schumann at Passau University and the Institute for Industrial Management FIR at RWTH Aachen. The time frame for the project is from December 1st, 2016 to November 30th, 2019.
